Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is intended to equip students and their families with the tools necessary to make more informed choices about postsecondary education, training, and careers for life after high school. It is a student-driven, adult-supported process designed to help students create their own unique vision for post-secondary success.
As each student navigates through this process, they will be exposed to many different possibilities.
ACP is a state mandate under Chapter PI-26 which states that all school boards "shall provide access to an education for employment program approved by the state superintendent. Under s. 115.28 (59), Stats., the state superintendent shall ensure that every school board is providing academic and career planning services to pupils enrolled in grades 6 to 12 in the school district beginning in the 2017-18 school year."

ACP FAQ
At each grade level, 7th-12th grade students will practice goal setting and planning by developing and/or revising their personal Academic & Career Plan with direction from adult mentors (staff, counselors, parents). This is a gradual process that supports the unique development of each student and continues to develop from one year to the next. Student goals and plans are expected to change annually based on their personal experiences and new opportunities to explore different career paths.
