District Administrator Message

The School District of Thorp is pursuing a capital referendum on the November 3, 2026 ballot. The referendum will pay for critical maintenance needs. It will address problems like a leaky roof, air quality, mold and mildew concerns, leaky plumbing, failing electrical equipment, and worn out asphalt. Passing the $8.5M referendum will ensure that our school remains a safe and healthy facility for the future of our children and community who rely on it every day. Passing the referendum will also contribute to the long-term financial stability of our school district. This website contains additional information on the referendum, a virtual tour of the facility, and estimated tax impact information.

Estimated Tax Impact

The School District of Thorp has remained fiscally conservative in its spending. The 2025-2026 mill rate was $5.62, below the state average of $7.09, and the lowest it has been in the last decade. The estimated tax impact for the capital referendum is $5.33/month or $64/year per $100,000 assessed property value. The $0.64mill rate increase from this referendum will drop off in 2 years because the district has paid down existing debt early.
